RE-Create Pop Up Workshops
Re-Create
Every Saturday in March (see detailed schedule below)
Noon - 2pm
Fronting Regal Kapolei 12
Kapolei Commons and Hawaii Contemporary have teamed up and are rethinking the possibilities of our waste with up-cycling – the process of transforming our perceived trash into useful items.
Our artist-teachers will guide participants of all ages to repurpose various materials, including bottle caps, plastic water bottles, milk cartons, unwanted T-shirts, paper, and more!
In addition to encouraging creativity through crafting, our free, up-cycling workshops will teach budding artists about the value of a variety of materials they see in their everyday lives.
Supplies will be provided and are limited to first come, first served.

In the spirit of the ʻōlelo noʻeau "i ka wā ma mua, i ka wā ma hope," the student exhibition Imagined Futures will invite students from Ulu Aʻe Learning
Center, Ewa DreamHouse, Kapolei High School, Waianae and Nānākuli Boys & Girls Clubs, and UH West Oʻahu to present work around the idea of looking
to the past to create the future, and imagining futures that also heal the past. Specifically, the project would encourage students to imagine how
Puʻuokapolei could be realized as a community space in the future as a part of our greater dedication to West Oʻahu and engaging the community and
